Give me voice

Acts 10: 39-43 (NIVUK)
39 ‘We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, 40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen – by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.’
I personally have been blessed to have known so many wonderful men and women of God throughout my life. Men and women whose life and example point directly to Jesus. Men and women who inspire and encourage a deep love for Jesus.
Sometimes when we think of those who have introduced us to Jesus, we can feel inadequate, not as good, not as inspiring. So we keep quiet. But take heart, friends! We are all works in progress. We have salvation through Christ but sanctification can take a lifetime. And as Peter says ‘he commands us to preach to the people and to testify.’ We are commanded to share our stories.
Even in the messiness of life God can use our stories to inspire others, to bring people to know him and his love. Our stories of answered prayers, our testimony of how Jesus has transformed our lives, again and again. Our stories, our witness, our testimony has the power to change lives, to save lives.
As for me, I pray people think: ‘Well if he can call that wee wild wummin to ministry, if he can transform her life so completely, what can he do with me!’
Prayer:
Lord Jesus
Fill me with your courage and strength,
Give me voice
Give me words
So that I can share my story of your life-changing love,
Inspiring others to come to know you.
Amen
