Art Connection - Tuesday 10th Dec 2024 - Week 119

Hello Everyone

Hope you will join me online this Tuesday where we'll work on using soft pastels to recreate a famous painting of The Cellist by Amedeo Modigliani

We usually meet every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15pm to draw/paint together. No experience needed. Complete beginners are very welcome.

1 Chronicles 15:15-17

"15 And the Levites carried the ark of God with the poles on their shoulders, as Moses had commanded in accordance with the word of the Lord. 16 David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their fellow Levites as musicians to make a joyful sound with musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals."

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone as this will allow you to zoom in on the detail also ?

What you'll need

Pastel paper or very fine grit sandpaper suitable for soft pastels

Sticky tape (decorators masking tape is best) to hold the paper down to your desk/table

Any size of paper (A3 will be good if you have it)

A selection of soft pastels and pastel pencils

Kitchen paper to wipe your hands on

An eraser and pencil sharpener

An apron to keep your clothes clean !

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will appear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
